Referral Service

From time to time, owners of Alaskan Malamutes or Siberian Huskies are faced with the need to rehome their beloved pet. If you're looking to adopt a Malamute or Husky, this page might be of some help to you. The Referral Service provides pet owners with a place to advertise the dogs for free provided the following conditions are met:

• The person listing the dog is the owner;
• The dog is available to the new home for FREE;
• Full disclosure of any medical conditions;
• Full disclosure of any concerning behavioural traits (eg agression/dominance);
• The dog has never been declared dangerous;
• The dog is microchipped.
• The dog is desexed.‡

To list a dog, firstly read the tips for rehoming or adopting dogs, and email us with the information about the dog(s) as outlined below. Be sure to include a photo^† of the dog.

† Note: Please ensure files are no bigger than 2MB in total.

‡ We will only advertise desexed dogs through this service in line with our position on responsible pet ownership. This applies to dogs listed after 1 November, 2011.

Allow 72 hours for the dog to be listed (you will be notified by email). Listings will remain for 1 calendar month from the listing date. If the dog is rehomed before then, please let us know.

Please note that under Queensland legislation, dogs that are given away must be microchipped.
